  • Sweet and mild Concord-like flavor
  • Delicious very sweet slipskin berries
  • Berries are small to medium size
  • Skin is thin
  • Small cylindrical and compact clusters
  • Hardy to -32⁰C
  • Zoned 4b for hardiness
  • Very resistant to winter cold, without any protection
  • Ripens early
  • Harvested in September
  • Very vigorous wine (ideal to cover fences or pergolas)
  • More disease-resistant than Montreal Blues
  • Equivalent of Ontario Concord but with thinner skin and seedless
  • Self-fertile grape variety

  • Cross between MN 78 (flower) and Venus (pollen)
  • Selected in 1985
  • Released in 2000
  • Developed by E. Swenson; named by David Mc Gregor (vine growing pioneer, 1st winemaker to market wine in Minnesota)
  • Origin: Osceola, Wisconsin (USA)




Trollhaugen, Swenson Red and Petite Jewel – 3 grape varieties offered by Vignes Chez Soi – are “half-sisters” on their mom’s side!

In fact, all three varieties have the same maternal ascendant, the MN78 (flower), fertilized in the case of Trollhaugen by the pollen of its “dad” Venus.



DELIVERIES 2023: orders will be sent by carrier (Canada Post or other) every Monday as of Monday, May 22, 2023 , reception is 2-3 business days later for Quebec, 4-5 business days later for the rest of Canada
