Non hardy variety in Quebec* (requires winter protection)




  • Medium sized berries (unusually large for seedless grapes)
  • Taste of labrusca and muscat. Sweet and fox
  • Some years of glitches may appear but they are usually soft and can be eaten with the berry
  • Non-adherent skin can sometimes be thick
  • Rustic to zone 6b
  • Vine vigorous
  • Ideal for eating fresh or for making juice
  • Self-fertile grape variety

  • Released in 1977
  • Origin: Fayetteville, Arkansas (USA)




This grape variety was part of the hybrid grape development program at the University of Arkansas. The developers of the program decided to give names of planets to some of the grape varieties. As a result Mars, Jupiter and Neptune are others cultivars developed by this program.



*WARNING! This grape variety is not hardy in regions which hardiness zone is above 5 (ex: 3, 4 etc…). Therefore it is imperative to protect the vine in winter (Ex: Cover with geotextile …)
